Investment Committee makes decision on divestment

The Investment Committee of the Queen’s Board of Trustees has decided not to divest the university’s pooled endowment and investment funds from fossil fuels.

The committee made the decision after reviewing and adopting the report of the Principal’s Advisory Committee on Divestment: Fossil Fuels, which undertook an extensive consultation period with the Queen’s community.

Inaugural Meeting of the KEGS Kingston Chapter

Following discussions among KEGS (www.kegsonline.ca), Queen's, ESG and Lamontagne, it was decided that a KEGS Kingston chapter should be established to create a platform for geophysicists in the greater Kingston area to exchange ideas and knowledge. Please join us for the inaugural KEGS Kingston event, featuring a talk by Bruce McMonnies, P.Geo., MMET, Lamontagne Geophysics Limited.

Mr. McMonnies will be presenting on Lamontagne UTEM Development”.

PhD Student Awarded Best Presentation at EUROCK

Congratulations to Bradley Forbes, current PhD student under the supervision of Dr. Nicholas Vlachopoulos and Dr. Mark S. Diederichs, who has been awarded best presentation at the ISRM (International Society for Rock Mechanics) Regional Symposium EUROCK 2015 & 64th Geomechanics Colloquium held in Salzburg, Austria.
