Student Receives AAPG Research Grant

Congratulations to Judith Elliott on receiving a research grant from the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG).

The Grants-in-Aid program run by the AAPG received approximately 460 applications from across the world, of which only 121 grants were awarded.

The grant will be used towards Judith's current research aimed at monitoring spatial and temporal SAGD steam chamber growth and fluid migration at all stages of reservoir development, and assessing and improving recovery of bitumen in reservoirs.

Specifically, the grant will be used to fund a week long initial site investigation at one of the reservoirs using time-lapse superconductive gravimetry, in order to characterize potential noise sources, identify operational parameters, and evaluate the site for the ideal gravity survey location.

Congratulations Judith!
