Queen's University

Promoting Excellence in Research

Margaret Vogan had a passion for global health issues...

margaret-vogan.jpgA public health nurse with a zeal for travel, Margaret Vogan graduated from Queen’s School of Nursing in 1955 and applied her education to global health, enjoying an adventurous career in Britain, New Zealand and Australia before returning home to Canada.

She firmly believed that her teachers and the quality of her university education provided the vital grounding she needed to succeed in her career and life as a nurse and world traveler, and wanted to show her gratitude by giving back to Queen’s.

Today, proceeds from her bequest and charitable trust promote excellence in research at the School of Nursing, nurturing the development of new ideas in global health and providing the necessary support and resources for research projects that advance the practice of nursing around the world.
