Queen's Annual Appeal
Did you know Queen's students like Leora are paving the way for a greener Ontario?
Leora took a year off between second and third year to participate in an internship on sustainable transportation in Ontario.
As part of a consulting team, she helped advise a number of Ontario cities on becoming more bike and pedestrian friendly. She provided communities with the tools necessary to advocate for trails as low-cost, readily available means of transportation and recreation. In the process, she helped build sustainable transportation models to decrease carbon emissions and increase community connectivity.
Leora received Queen's credit for her unique independent study that concluded her internship.
She brought her experiences and knowledge to Kingston, preparing a report on making transportation in the Limestone City more sustainable.
