Three of our undergraduate concentrators, Gillian Magnusson, Jocelyn Plane, and Andrew McEwen, have had papers published in the March 2009 edition of the The Mirror.
Produced by the University of Western Ontario, The Mirror is the oldest undergraduate history journal in Canada. Each year it publishes around ten exceptional undergraduate essays from across the country, selected by a process of peer review.
The papers are:
Gillian Magnusson (majoring in History with a minor in Devs): "The "G" Word: Language, Power and Sexual Identiy of the 'Groupie' and Rock Culture, 1965-1970"
Jocelyn Plane, (medial in History and Geography): "Raped of their Womanhood: Black Female Sexuality and the Ku Klux Klan"
Andrew McEwen (majoring in History and currently co-chair of our DSC): "The War to End All Warriors: The Decline of the Warrior's Image in Early 20th Century Western Culture"
Congratulations to Gillian, Jocelyn and Andrew for this accomplishment.
A copy of the current edition of The Mirror (Vol XXIX) is available in the History office.
