Rob Dennis collaborates on the Irish of Halifax Symposium

Since September 2013, Robert Dennis has served as a Collaborator and an Administrative Partner representing the Canadian Catholic Historical Association on a SSHRC Strategic Partnership Development Grant titled, "Irish-Catholic Discourse and Social Mobility in Nineteenth Century Halifax: the Exemplary Case of Holy Cross Cemetery."  This project has brought together researchers from across Canada, Britain, and Ireland to study the Irish Catholic diaspora to Halifax during the nineteenth century in part by reconstructing community life through the burial records of Irish Catholics interned at the Holy Cross Cemetery.

The research team will present its findings as part of a special symposium at the Congress of the Sciences and Humanities, during the Annual Meeting of the Canadian Catholic Historical Association,on Wednesday, 28 May.  Please consider joining us!
