Department Celebrates Centennial of the Douglas Chair

The Department of History recently celebrated the 100 year anniversary of the Douglas Chair in Canadian and Colonial History with a lecture by current chair holder Dr. Donald Akenson. Dr. Akenson delivered a fascinating and provocative Centenary Lecture entitled Arithmetic, Purpose, and Liberal Arts Education.  We were honoured to have the family members of a number of previous chairholders present at the event.
