About

My fields of interest are late Byzantine political, intellectual, and religious history, as well as Byzantine Greek. Under the supervision of Prof. Nevra Necipoğlu at Boğaziçi University, I translated -from Byzantine Greek to English- the letters of George-Gennadios Scholarios that were sent to the ruling elite in the Peloponnese in the fifteenth century for my M.A. thesis. As a fifth year Ph.D. student, I am presently working under Prof. Richard Greenfield on my dissertation entitled “The Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople and its Political and Social Relations with the Contemporary World in Late Byzantium, 1261-1453.
