Bachelor of Arts in English Language Teaching, Boğaziçi University, Istanbul (comp. in 2008)

My fields of interest are late Byzantine political, intellectual, and religious history, as well as Byzantine Greek. Under the supervision of Prof. Nevra Necipoğlu at Boğaziçi University, I translated -from Byzantine Greek to English- the letters of George-Gennadios Scholarios that were sent to the ruling elite in the Peloponnese in the fifteenth century for my M.A. thesis. As a fourth year Ph.D. student, I am presently working with Prof. Richard Greenfield on my dissertation entitled “The Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople and its Political, Religious, and Intellectual Relations with the Contemporary World in Late Byzantium, 1261-1453.
