About

Born in Vancouver, BC, educated in schools in Port Alice and Vancouver, at UBC (BA, 1960, History and Asian Studies, Dip.Ed., 1961) and the University of Birmingham, UK (Ph.D., 1970, African Studies). Taught secondary school in BC and Nigeria and university in Nigeria, Canada and the UK between 1961 and the present. Presently writing The Rise and Fall of the Third World; Asia, Africa and Latin America, 1945-2005 (forthcoming, Spring 2009).
