About

I grew up in Oshawa, Ontario, but moved to Ottawa to study at Carleton. I worked for two different Carleton professors as a research assistant; one on the topic of the intimate life of a storied Canadian political figure, and the other on the folk song tradition that emerged from natural disasters in Canada. I also spent a few years working as a librarian assistant for a tiny, but lovely library at Elections Canada.
I am interested in the classic historians of the social history tradition, à la E. Hobsbawm or E. P. Thompson. I hope to study working class experience, and the history of left and liberal political and social movements in Canada in the Twentieth Century.
Professor Barrington Walker has agreed to supervise my research.
