Maggie McGoldrick

Ph.D. Candidate

Maggie McGoldrick is a first year PhD candidate, and has recently finished her M.A here at Queens where she attended with a Social Sciences and humanities Research Council award and worked under the supervision of Dr. Elizabeth Jane Errington. Although her prior research and MA cognate examined the fur trade and Indigenous slavery in the Great Lakes region, her dissertation project will explore the role of Indigenous centered, grassroots and community archives movements in repatriating Indigenous authority in the historical narrative, and their influence as part of a broader decolonization movement. Maggie is the recipient of an Ontario Graduate Scholarship for the 2015 – 2016 academic year, and will be working under the supervision of Dr. Caroline-Isabelle Caron.
