Imperial Spanish / Latin American History
B.A. (Honours) Athabasca University, 2013
My areas of interest in history have been described as "all over the map", although my main field of interest lays in 15th and 16th century Spain and Latin America. My research for my thesis will focus on the Spanish conquest of Peru. In particular I will be examining the socio – cultural factors that enabled a tiny band of Conquistadors to bring the mightiest empire in the Americas, the Inca Empire, under the dominion of the Spanish crown. I will be pursuing this topic under the supervision of Professor Nancy van Deusen.
In my spare time I enjoy studying languages, reading and writing Speculative Fiction, hiking and Tae Kwon Do.
