Medieval/Early Modern Europe
BAH History, University of Guelph
My academic interests are varied and wide-ranging, including Medieval and Early Modern European studies, religious studies, political history and gender. At Queen's, my primary field of historical inquiry involves the dramatic changes that took place in Early Modern England. More specifically, I am interested in the changing political climate of the English Civil War, particularly the trial and execution of Charles I. As well, I am intrigued by religious influences of the Later Middle Ages, namely the English Reformation, in the political upheaval of the 1600s. Under the supervision of Dr. Jeffrey Collins, I intend to explore the repercussions of regicide in the English context.
Some of my other passions include travel, languages, writing and photography.
