I obtained my undergraduate degree from Bishop's University in Lennoxville, Quebec in 2006, and my master's degree from Queen's University in 2007. I am currently working on my PhD dissertation under the ever learned and insightful, Professor Jeff McNairn.
My research interests lay primarily in the intellectual history of political economy, religion and politics. My dissertation, so far, explores the interrelation between religious and economic ideas and beliefs in Upper Canada between 1820 and 1870. I hope to explain how religious ideas contributed to changes in the ontological understanding of the "market economy" as it moved from the natural to the abstract realm of human consciousness. In turn, I hope to explain how this altered understanding of the market economy subsequently influenced religious ideas of the self and society.
