I was born and raised in Sudbury Ontario where I began my academic studies at Laurentian University majoring in history and women's studies. After four wonderful years there I moved to Ottawa to pursue graduate work at Carleton University. With my M.A. completed I moved a little farther west to Kingston where I am now working on my doctoral dissertation in history at Queens University. Most of my undergraduate and graduate career has been spent studying the gendering and sexualization of machinery in Canadian print media. I now hope to use the theoretical interpretations learned thus far to study the history of transsexuality in post-WWII Canada under the supervision of Karen Dubinsky.
