My research intends to challenge the complacency and limited vision of Canadians towards the contemporary economic crisis by exploring how, during previous depressions, unemployed citizens and immigrants fought for and imagined a more just and equitable social order. More broadly, I study nineteenth and twentieth century Canadian social, economic and cultural history from an international perspective and with an emphasis on labour and the left. My Ph.D. is supervised by Dr. Ian McKay.
