Students in courses offered by the History Department will normally receive letter grades in seminars and a combination of letter grades and numeric grades in lectures. Instructors will announce which assignments, if any, will be graded numerically. A chart of grade descriptors has been prepared to help you understand your grade.

For the purposes of calculating your course average, letter grades on individual assignments will be translated temporarily into numerical values using the Faculty of Arts and Science approved scale.
