If you are a history major in your home university you are eligible for the following range of courses, depending on your year of study (please see our Typical Patterns for history majors to get a sense of what our students take in each of their years of study) and the availability of courses:
2nd year students: HIST 200 level courses (lectures); possibility of one 'core seminar' (HIST 300-329), depending on availability
3rd year students: HIST 200 level courses (lectures); 6 to 9 units of upper level seminars (HIST 330-499) over the course of the year, depending on availability (the equivalent of two or three half year courses)
4th year students: 6-12 units HIST 200 level courses (lectures); 6 to 12 units of upper level seminars (HIST 330-499) over the course of the year, depending on availability (the equivalent of two or four half year courses)
If you are a history minor, you are eligible for our lecture courses (HIST 200-299)
If you are not a history student, but are interested in studying history while at Queen's, we will do our best to get you into one lecture class (HIST 200-299) (generally 3 units), but we cannot guarantee you a spot.
