You will be required to complete 21 units of upper level seminar (1C) to graduate (instead of the currently specified 18). Instead of 30 units of option courses, you will now only need 27 units (2.A. will be reduced from 24 to 21). Your advisement report should read:
A. 6.0 units from HIST 121/6.0 or HIST 122/6.0 or HIST 124/6.0 or HIST 125/6.0
B. 6.0 units from HIST 300-329 or HIST_Seminars (your core seminar)
C. 21.0 units from HIST 333-499
A. 21.0 units from HIST at the 200-level; HIST_Subs at the 200-level or above; HIST 330-332; HIST at the 500 level*
B. 6.0 units from HIST at the 100- or 200-level; HIST_Subs
A. Minimum 6.0 units from HIST_Canadian
B. Maximum 6.0 units from HIST_Subs
*HIST 515 will no longer count towards 1C in the new plan. Students interested in HIST 515 for next year should consult with the UG chair to discuss the fulfillment of plan requirements.
In practical terms, what does this mean? You still need to complete the equivalent of 3 full year seminars, but you need one less lecture course (half year) than you needed previously. If you already have 27 units of option courses on Solus, you do not need to take any more.
To understand what you need to take next year, please click on the link below that applies to you. Check your advisement report on Solus (available under my academics) to evaluate how many units you currently have in category 1.C. (upper level seminar units).
