The HMRC-CREATE program endeavours to produce a new generation of research leaders in biomedical sciences and engineering.
Vision: Developing a new generation of minimally invasive technologies for the long-term maintenance of bone and joint health.
Mission: To provide future scientists with learning opportunities that will challenge their attitudes and perspectives regarding research in bone and joint health technologies and build transferable skills to facilitate transition to the workforce.
Values: HMRC-CREATE is a learner-centered, competency-based program, guided by the following values:
Academic Excellence: To produce a new generation of research leaders in biomedical sciences and engineering.
Collaboration: Team-oriented research where academic and clinical faculty, staff, and trainees collaborate.
Innovative Practice: Researchers value curiosity, innovation, mentorship, and effective use of resources in an interdisciplinary environment.
Knowledge Translation: We recognize and promote the application and distribution of knowledge to the wider community.
Research Focus: We promote quality research in bone and joint health technologies focused on meeting real needs.
Social Responsibility: Researchers value the balance between meeting one's individual needs and those of one's professional field and community. Service learning opportunities are integrated into the program.
