In 2011, the selection process will be slightly modified to include two tracks: (a) research interns and (b) professional development interns.
Track A: Research Interns: Duration 16 weeks. The interns will be involved in research projects under the supervision of a faculty member. In addition to the research project, the selected interns will meet bi-weekly for professional development seminars and undertake a team-based service-learning project (about 2 hours/week commitment).
Track B: Professional Development Interns: Duration 16 weeks. The selected interns will meet bi-weekly for professional development seminars and undertake a team-based service-learning project (about 2 hours/week commitment). Please note that interns on this track are not paid.
Faculty Members: Faculty members interested in applying for the summer internship funding should submit a brief abstract of the proposed summer project that will be posted on the CREATE website. The interns will select their summer project based on the submitted abstracts. Each faculty member whose project is selected for the internship program will be required to contribute $1720 towards the intern’s pay.
The Awards and Selection Working Group reviews all complete applications that are submitted by the deadline. The shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview.
