Informal care is unlicensed and as such, there is no registry of informal caregivers in the Kingston area. However, St. Lawrence College Recruitment and Liaison (544-5400 ext. 1610) may be able to help locate informal care with Early Childhood Education graduates interested in being a child care provider. Requests for care providers may be faxed to the Employment Information staff at 545-3923.

If you require occasional evening or weekend care, you may wish to locate a teenager to babysit your child. There are several organizations in the Kingston area that offer babysitting courses:

Canadian Red Cross Society (548-4929)
City of Kingston Culture & Recreation Programs & Events (546-7998)
Kingston Family YMCA (546-2647)
St. John Ambulance (546-7669)

If you know of a teen that is interested in caring for your child, you may wish him/her to take one of the courses offered by these organizations. In addition, these organizations may be able to help you contact a graduate of one of their courses.
