Allen-Detweiler Nursery School (Nursery School)
Allen-Detweiler is a cooperative school and parents are expected to assist the teachers and provide the snack on designated duty days. However, parents may opt out of this monthly duty day by paying a fee. Parents are also required to attend general meetings, participate in the administration of the school, and assist in fundraising ventures. The curriculum is designed to encourage the development of social skills, curiosity, cooperation, and coordination. These values are delivered through monthly themes which coordinate elements of music, science, literature, and art. Parents are encouraged to get involved by visiting the classroom and sharing their skills and interests.
