New Staff Orientation

Human Resources has introduced changes to New Staff Orientation delivery in order to enhance the onboarding experience for new employees.  The new hire will be scheduled to attend two orientation sessions their first month of employment.

New Staff Orientation will normally be scheduled on the employees first day of work from 9:00am – 12:00pm. This information is specified in the new employee’s offer letter.  This session will include a “Welcome to Queen’s” presentation, Benefits documentation, and delivery of legislated training.

Shared-Services Orientation

Your new employee will receive an invitation to attend the Shared-Services Orientation session, during their first month of employment. The first 45 minutes of the Shared-Services Orientation is mandatory, providing new employees with the required in person Equity training. The remainder of the orientation is an opportunity for new staff to learn about many of the different services available at Queen’s. Awareness of these services is valuable to an employee both professionally and personally.
