Once a vacancy for a Research, Grant & Contract (RG&C) employee is identified, email Compensation at hrcomp@queensu.ca with the following information:
Compensation will use this information to work with the researcher to finalize the position summary, evaluate the position to assign the grade level, which determines the hiring salary. Once the evaluation is complete, Compensation will create the position in PeopleSoft and email the approved position summary, position number and hiring salary to the researcher. The approved position summary will be used for job posting if applicable.
The approved position summary developed with Compensation is used to post in the Research Job Posting System. This easy-to-use system allows researchers to post jobs on the Careers page of the Human Resources website.
If recruiting support is needed, Compensation will provide a contact on the Human Resources Client Service team to provide assistance. For more information on recruiting RG&C employees, refer to the Recruiting Guide for Research, Grant and Contract Employees.
Compensation needs to approve the position summary and establish the salary grade even if a successful candidate has already been identified. Once this is complete, Compensation will create the position in PeopleSoft and email the approved position summary, position number and hiring salary to the researcher. The successful candidate cannot be hired into the system until Compensation creates the position in PeopleSoft.
