July 1 2014 Salary Program Summary – Staff Groups

United Steelworkers Local 2010 - Grades 2-9

An employee in a USW position who is not at the maximum Step for their respective salary grade will advance to the next Step in their salary grade effective July 1, 2014 (USW 2010 Collective Agreement Article 30.12).

Confidential/Managerial Excludes and Research Group – Grades 2 - 9

The salary grid for ‘non-unionized’ staff in the 2-9 employee group (Confidential, Managerial Exclude and Research) will be aligned with the United Steelworkers (USW), Local 2010 salary grid as per the communication of March 13, 2014 to affected employees; this means a scale increase of approximately 1.25% will be applied effective July 1, 2014 which applies to all employees holding positions in this group.

In addition, each employee, except an employee whose salary at June 30, 2014 was at or above the maximum for their grade, will be moved up to the next Step within their respective salary grade.

Other Employee Groups

Applicable salary program updates will be implemented once collective agreements are ratified with CUPE Locals 229, 254 and 1302 and ONA Local 67.

Senior Non-Academic Administrators (Grades 10-14 and Administrative Executives) - Details for the merit pay program for the 2014-2015 salary year will be communicated at a later date.
