Since Friday, March 9, 2012 we have been experiencing problems with the HR PeopleSoft Contract Hire system. Thank you for your patience while we worked on these issues—they have been resolved. The system is now available to enter and process Casual, Research and Student contracts.
Contracts already entered using Contract Hire
If the contract is in draft, submit the contract and proceed with processing approvals. If the contract was submitted, no further action is required other than processing pending approvals.
Your HR Advisor will contact you if additional information is needed for Human Resources to complete the processing.
Email Notifications to Department Heads and Principal Investigators
E-mail notifications to Department Heads and PIs are temporarily disabled while we resolve a known issue. On a regular basis, Department Heads and PIs should follow the navigation below to check for, access and approve/reject contracts:
Workforce administration>template based hire>contract approval> choice of Dept. Head or PI.
Research and Student contract employees continue to receive an email notification when contracts are ready to be e-signed.
Monthly HR submission deadline extended
Due to the impact of the issues experienced with the Contract Hire system, the monthly HR submission deadline is extended to 4:30 pm Friday, March 16.
The bi-weekly casual employee HR submission deadline remains unchanged: 4:30 pm Monday, March 19.
Known issue - Error 403
In certain circumstances, employees may encounter an Error 403 message when attempting to e-sign a contract. They will receive the following message:
Error 403 -- Forbidden. The server understood the request, but is refusing to fulfill it.....
If this occurs, submit an iTrack so we can apply the solution enabling employees to e-sign. Employees will be contacted by HR when the contract is ready for e-signature. A longer term fix for this error is in development.
If you are experiencing other issues with the system, please submit an iTrack to access the HR PeopleSoft Support Centre.
