Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) Policy
The University recognizes that personal difficulties (including physical, mental, emotional, marital, family, substance abuse, or financial problems) may have serious effects on the work performance, personal life, and health of an employee as well as work colleagues and/or family members.
Because of this, an Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) is available to promote and maintain the well-being of all university employees while respecting confidentiality at all times.
Services provided by EAP are available to Queen's employees and their immediate families (as defined by the Queen's benefits programs). The program is entirely voluntary and can be accessed only by the employee or member of the immediate family.
Free, confidential counselling is currently provided by the firm Homewood Human Solutions. Counsellors are available on a 24-hour basis and can be contacted by calling the following toll-free number: 1-800-663-1142. Further information is available on the Human Resources Website.
