"Corner Stone"

Laura Warburton, Canadian artist

Artist's Biography

Whether Laura's compositions are brushed, sprayed, carved, splattered, scraped or poured, the use of texture, and abstraction provides an organic feel that encourages the viewer to linger and visually rove across the canvas.

Laura's paintings are aptly termed "Loft Artwork", as they are large in size > 4ft, abstract and provide a clean contemporary feel to any environment, including the raw feel of loft designed spaces.

Her works are hanging in corporate and private collections throughout Canada, USA, UK and Europe. The 3rd season of HBO's series HUNG also featured some of her work.

Loft Artwork studio is by appointment only.

Artist's Statement

Women, the cornerstone of life.

There is a left, a right and a center line between.

The line itself is the woman, both sides embrace her and she them.

The resilience and strength of women is found in the various textures and layers.  The thickened raised paste on each side swirl toward her and in that she is strengthened, the flow of life moves through her. Her strength is found in the wholeness of the piece, all parts create her and she them.

Although a cornerstone in life, no real corners exist, rather the ebb and flow of circles ...always back to the source, the woman.

Women, the cornerstone of life.
