Artist's Statement"One for the books" It is my privilege to present to you a woman of intellect, beauty and strength. Here was a woman of great versatility and independent thought. She was a master of several languages and could carry on a conversation and debate with people from all walks of life. There was a streak of rebellion in her coupled with an unusual sense of humour. She was curious, loved new experience, and quite determined to achieved her goals. A woman so powerful that after more than a century she can still ignite our imagination and capture our hearts. It has been said that on occasion she liked a little drink, so let us now lift a glass. Ladies and Gentlemen: Elizabeth Stride |
