Artist's Biography

Jamie MacDonald is a graduate of Queen's University, B.A. (Hons.) and B.Ed., and a resident of Kingston, Ontario.  He paints landscapes and portraits, and does the occasional illustration.  His goal through painting is to reveal a story: be it of a person, place, a journey, or a specific time.  John Singer Sargent, Gustav Klimt, Tom Thompson, N.C. Wyeth, Frank Frazetta, and Johannes Vermeer can be counted among his influences. He has been a participant in a number of group and solo shows in Ontario, and is a member of the PSC and SCA.  Jamie finds time to paint while acting as a fencing coach, pursuing guitar and piloting, writing fiction, and working full-time as a junior/intermediate teacher of art and history.
