Artist's Statement

"I wanted to create an image of woman as the keeper of eggs both literally and metaphorically.  It is Her body that nurtures all humans; all of our potential resides within Her.  If we look purposely - symbolized by the floating eyes - we come to understand the essential value of Woman.  Life grows within Her and so it follows that Her power is tethered to our own continuity.  It is up to all of us, as a community, to ensure that Her hold is strong and never tenuous."
