Artist's Statement

There is much symbolism and folklore regarding Owls, but my mother felt the Owl was the embodiment of women’s strength and resilience, as Owls symbolize wisdom, and have the vision to see what is around them. The Owl with her clutch were painted using a folk art paint style to reinforce the folklore theme.
