- Assume there are lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people in every group
- Use inclusive language (partner)
- Confront heterosexist and transphobic remarks whenever possible
- Become familiar with issues relevant to LGBTQ people (watch films, read books, attend seminars)
- Attend queer-positive events

In the Classroom
- Assume that there are same-sex oriented and trans people in the class room
- Create safe and supportive class environments
- Integrate the perspectives of gender and sexual minorities into your curricula and class discussions
- Confront transphobic and heterosexists comments

In the Work Place
- Assume that there are same-sex oriented and trans people in your work place
- Create supportive and harassment free work places for employees and colleagues
- Provide resources and training on identifying and eliminating harassment and discrimination
