Trans Accessibility Project:
Acknowledgements

Many people and organizations contributed to the development of this manual. We would like to thank the VIEW Coordinating Committee for agreeing to fund this project and to Tina Tom for her support and assistance with the administration.

We greatly appreciated the involvement of the women from Kingston Interval House who participated in the development of the shelter survey and freely offered their knowledge and insight. In addition, we want to thank Kingston Interval House for endorsing our proposal and presenting it to the VIEW Committee.

We are aware that all shelters have had their work load significantly increased in the past several years and appreciate the time and energy taken by those who completed the survey.

We are deeply grateful to J. Hannah, E. MacDonald, N. Marshall, T. van Vierzen, D. Darke, A. Summers and T. Tom for reading drafts of this manual. As members of the transgender community, women's community, and women's shelters they each offered expertise and experience that was invaluable in the completion of this work. We especially appreciate the particular generosity of the transgendered women and men who shared their knowledge and personal experience with us in the development of this work.

Finally we want to thank the courageous transgendered writers and activists upon whose work we relied.
