This course prepares students to design, develop, implement and evaluate community based rehabilitation (CBR) programs for and with persons with disabilities internationally. Students will examine basic CBR concepts and frameworks, education and training strategies. They will analyze designs and outcomes for a variety of CBR programs in Canada and internationally. They will explore the CBR matrix developed by the World Health Organization and its application to CBR practice, research and education. It will draw on ICACBR international experiences by presenting and analyzing specific examples of international and local programs.
