Comparative Federalism and Federation Research Committee of the International Political Science Association

(IPSA RC 28)

Recognised as study group in 1984 and granted research committee status in 1987, IPSA RC 28 promotes the pursuit of knowledge and research on the concept of federalism and the “federal idea”, intergovernmental relations, the decentralisation of the delivery of public services, fiscal relationships, ethnic and cultural diversity, and the structure and functioning of federal and federative institutions, along with supranational bodies.  RC 28 publishes The Comparative Federalism Newsletter bi-annually.
