15th Annual Symposium in Indigenous Research:
8-9 November 2013

"Honouring the Kahswentha: Reclamation, Renewal, Reconciliation"

Robert Sutherland Hall, Room 202 Queen's University

The symposium is conducted in a fashion expressing respect for traditional Aboriginal protocol. Aboriginal community members and Elders will be in attendance as participants and stakeholders, and presentations will be in the form of a talking circle. The sessions are moderated with the use of a talking stick and given guidance by Aboriginal Elders.

The Kairos Blanket Exercise is an interactive activity designed with the intention of informing participants of the historic Crown-First Nations relationship in Canada.

Paulo Wangoolais one of the leading Uganada-based players in the ongoing Afrikan Renaissance.He is the founder and Nabyama (president)of Mpambo Afrikan Multiversity. The MAM was founded to support the revitalization and regeneration of Mother Tongue scholarship working with Clan Elders, Spiritual Leaders and Community wise women and men as scholars and leaders in a unique place of learning

Sakokwenionkwas Tom Porter a member of the Bear Clan of the Mohawk Nation at Akwesasne, is the founder, director and spiritual leader of the traditional Mohawk Community of Kanatsiohare:ke. A champion for the revitalization of Native languages and traditions, this respected elder has devoted his life to educate others about the true history, culture and spirituality of the Haudenosaune
