In April 2006, Queen’s began the most ambitious fundraising campaign in the university’s history. We invited all members of the Queen’s extended family to take part in shaping the future of Queen’s, and your response was remarkable -- as expected!

Thanks to the leadership of Principal Woolf and your loyalty and generosity, we exceeded our goal of $500 million in spectacular fashion.

In the final report and throughout the site, you will find a sampling of the stories that will be told in the coming weeks and months as we celebrate a historic decade of volunteerism and philanthropy at Queen’s. Each one of these stories demonstrates how Queen’s can impact a person’s life, and then inspire that person to make an impact in return.

The result is a rich history of philanthropy that builds on the contributions of those who came before us. This legacy of giving is perpetuated by your support, which allows our extraordinary students, researchers, and educators the opportunity to become leaders in their communities and make a lasting impact on society, both locally and globally.

This year Queen’s is celebrating its 175th anniversary. Philanthropy has played an important role in the growth of the university almost since its inception. And now generations more of alumni and friends have left their mark on Queen’s through the Campaign.

On behalf of my fellow volunteers on the Initiative Campaign Cabinet, I would like to thank you for choosing to support the people of Queen’s. Your contributions have made history.
