The Dunin-Deshpande Queen’s Innovation Centre (DDQIC) hosted it’s first Regional Pitch Competition on March 2017. The goal of the competition was to support early-stage ventures from Queen’s and the Kingston region.

The competition, which provided $28,000 in seed funding to seven finalist ventures, was judged by the DDQIC Executive Team along with members of the DDQIC Global Network in London, England, who connected via video conference. Chaired by Heather Christie (Queen’s University Artsci’09), the London branch is supported by 13 Queen’s alumni who come from a variety of different professional and education backgrounds. This branch offers support to DDQIC ventures that want to expand into the UK and the rest of Europe.
