Services for international students

Queen's University International Centre (QUIC)

QUIC provides non-academic support service for international exchange students through its various programs and activities throughout the academic year. QUIC has a wealth of expertise in helping students with areas such as:

  • finding accommodation
  • information about living in Kingston
  • visa requirements for studying in Canada
  • health insurance information
  • cost of living
  • advising and counselling on non-academic matters
  • orientation and welcome program
  • English language support

The QUIC staff and volunteers also plan a number of events and trips throughout the academic year to introduce international to the unique aspects of Kingston and the surrounding area.  For more information about QUIC and its services for exchange students, visit the Incoming Students and Staff section of the QUIC website.

On-Campus Facilities

Queen's University offers a range of facilities on campus including libraries, information technology services (ITS), the Campus Bookstore, Student Health Services, a post office, various cafeterias, as well as an assortment of places to meet and relax with friends such as pubs and cafés.

Students will also have access to The Queen's Centre, a modern, multi-purpose complex in the heart of campus which includes an aquatic centre, gymnasiums, a huge cardio and weight area, dance studios, squash and racquetball courts, as well as extensive student-life space. The Queen's Centre integrates academics, sports and recreation, student and community activities.

Exchange students receive a Queen's student card and have the same rights and privileges as a full-time Queen's student, including a free city bus pass.

Health, Counselling and Disability Services (HCDS)

The HCDS department supports the personal, academic and social development of students at Queen's University by providing a range of programs and services appropriate to their needs.  Please visit the HCDS website for more information about the services that they offer.
