Courses are offered at the BISC in the Fall, Winter and Summer terms in a variety of arts, business, humanities, social science and science disciplines. Programs in Global Law Studies are offered only in the summer see Queen’s Global Law website: Faculty of Law - Global Law Programs at the BISC.

Classes are held on 4 week days, and field studies and optional trips take place on the remaining day and weekends for students and relevant instructors in each term. In the Fall and Winter Terms, courses normally meet for three hours per week, scheduled in two 90-minute slots (or one 3-hour slot if more convenient). In the summer program lengths and times are variable.
