Roles and Responsibilities

  • Works closely with Director of Office of VPFA and Risk Management on overall strategic direction of risk management, promoting a strong risk awareness culture in keeping with the observed risks and claims experience at both the university and among Canadian universities typically.

  • Responsible for the University’s insurance program, for the negotiation and purchase of insurance policies, providing property and casualty advice on matters relating to the insurance program, providing direction, coaching, training and counseling, tracking important changes on property holdings and inventories for valuation purposes and for identifying and recommending program improvements.

Catherine's tenure at Queen's includes working in both academic and service departments.  She obtained her BA from Queen's University and her Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation from University of Toronto and has worked as a risk manager for Queen's since 2010.
