Listserv services have been restored. Mail that has been queued will be delivered over the next few hours.

Any messages returned by the service (e.g. with "too many hops" errors) will need to be resent by the user.

Previous Description (2012-12-14 09:56:26):

There will be an interruption to mailing list services on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, starting at 6:00 a.m. and lasting approximately one hour. This service outage is necessary in order to move the mailing list (Listserv) application to new server hardware.
Impact of the Outage

During this outage:

* No email sent to a Listserv mailing list will be delivered. No email will be lost; it will be queued and delivered as soon as service is resumed.
* Attempts to log in to the mailing list application or access mailing list archives will result in an error that the server may not be started and to try again later.

Recommendations

List owners who typically have busy mailing lists early in the mornings may wish to notify their subscribers of this service interruption.
Service Changes

Following the outage, there will be no changes to the mailing list service. You will continue to manage your lists and access your web archives as you always have in the past.
