**Mail flow returning to normal**

Working with our vendor support, ITServices has identified a bug that was causing the mail delays in our spam filter. The vendor provided a patch to fix the issue and mail queues are returning to normal. Users should see normal operation of the mail system within the hour.

Email from on campus is still experiencing intermittent delays. ITServices is continuing to take steps to reduce mail delivery delays.

Previous Description (2013-10-01 16:18:53):

Due to current high spam volumes on our mail filters, delivery of legitimate mail is being delayed. ITServices has taken steps to improve delivery, but delays will continue until the spam attack finishes.

Mail is not being lost, only delayed due to the high volumes.
