Access a Shared Mailbox through Outlook


  1. Open Outlook
    • Open the File menu
  2. The Account Information screen will open
    • Click the Account Settings button
    • Select Account Settings...
  3. The Account Settings screen will open
    • On the E-mail tab click your email address
    • Click the Change... button
  4. The Change Account screen will open
    • Click the More Settings ... button
  5. The Microsoft Exchange screen will open
    • Select the Advanced tab
    • Click the Add... button
  6. The Add Mailbox screen will open
    • Enter the email address of the shared mailbox you were given access to
    • Click the OK button
  7. The mailbox information will now appear in the Open these additional mailboxes: field
    • Click the OK button
  8. The Change Account screen will re-open
    • Click the Next > button
  9. The Change Account screen will now contain a message indicating Outlook is ready to set up the account
    • Click the Finish button
  10. The Account Settings screen will re-open
    • Click the Close button
  11. The shared mailbox has now been added to the list of account in the left navigation menu
    • You can switch between accounts by click the appropriate inbox for each account
