Recovering Deleted Emails

 

In Office 365 the maximum number of days that items can remain in the Deleted Items folder before they are automatically removed is 30 days.The maximum numbers of days that items removed from the Deleted Items folder are retained before they are permanently deleted is 14 days. During this time Items may be recovered. Windows users can recover deleted items in Outlook 2010 or in the Office 365 Web App; Mac users should do this in Office 365 Web App.

 


 

  1. Log into http://outlook.com/queensu.ca

  2. Right-click on the Deleted Items folder.
    • Select Recover Deleted Items

  3. The Recover Deleted Items screen will open
    • You will see a list of messages organized by the dates on which they were deleted.
    • Click the message(s) you want to recover.   You can select multiple items by holding down the control key.
    • Click the Recover Selected Items button.

  4. The Recover To Folder screen will open.
    • Select the folder into which you would like the item(s) restored
    • Click the Recover button
    Select the folder you want to move the messages into
