Configure Outlook 2013 & 2016 for Office 365

Office 2013 no longer supported.

Office 2013 support will be ending in July of 2017.  Users who have installed Office from Office365 will have been updated automatically to Office 2016.  Office 2013 is no longer available in Office 365 to be installed.

Users who are still running Office 2013 as obtained through My.Queen' should upgrade to Office 2016 before July 2017.  Office 2016 is optimized for use with Office 365 and provides the best end user experience.  In July, Office 2013 will be removed from My.Queen'

Note:  the following screen shots were created using Outlook 2013.  They are the same for Outlook 2016

  1. Start Outlook  
    • The Welcome to Outlook  screen will be displayed
    • Click the Next button
  2. The Microsoft Outlook Account Setup screen will open 
    • Click the radio button beside Yes
    • Click the Next button.


  3. The Auto Account Setup screen will open
    • In the Your Name: field enter your first and last name as you would like them to appear in your email.
    • In the E-mail Address: field enter your Queen's email address
    • In the Password: field enter your password
    • In the Retype Password: field enter your password again. Do Not copy/paste your password.  If you made a mistake while typing the password you would be copying the mistake and the Account Setup will fail.


  4. Once the E-mail Account information fields are completeded the Next button will be available.  
    • Click the Next button.


  5. The Searching for your mail server settings... screen will open 
    • Outlook will complete your account setup.  Each item will be marked with a green checkmark.
    • The Congratulations! Your email account was successfully configured and is ready to use. message will be displayed
    • Click the Finish button.


  6. Outlook will open 
    • A messeage indicating that a local copy of your account is being set up will be displayed.
    • Outlook  is now ready to use.
