Microsoft Stream

Stream is tightly integrated with Office 365 groups and users should review the Office 365 Groups Service page and Groups Guidelines before getting started with Stream.

Microsoft Stream is an enterprise video service where you can upload, view, and share videos across Queen's Office 365. You can share recordings of classes, meetings, presentations, training sessions, or other videos. Videos can be uploaded on their own and shared individually, or to a chosen group or channel for members to have access to.

Getting Started

Who Can Have It?

  • Microsoft Stream is part of the Office 365 suite of cloud-based services available to all current students, staff and faculty of Queen's University with an active Queen's NetID@queensu.ca email account.
  • Alumni and retired staff and faculty are not eligible for Stream.

Are There Any Costs?

  • Stream is part of Office 365 service and provided at no cost to eligible users
  • Users are responsible for any personal ISP/cellular arising data charges

How Do I Get It?

How Do I Delete a Stream Group?

WARNING: When you delete a Stream group, you are permanently deleting the Office 365 Group.
Deletion will remove all group conversations, email messages, files, calendars, and any other related information. If you would like to delete a group, please see Edit and manage a Stream group.

What if I Leave Queen's?

  • Please see the Office 365 section of the Service Termination Dates page for details on when service will be discontinued following departure from Queen's

  • Microsoft Stream supports Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer 11, and the current versions of Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. For more information, see Office 365 system requirements

  • Uploaded videos per user: 5000
  • Channels created per user: 1000
  • Video size: 50 GB
  • Thumbnail size per file: 4 MB
  • Text Track/Subtitle size: 2 MB

Mobile App availability

  • There is currently no mobile app availability for Stream
