NetID

NetID will be the "User ID" you need to sign on to the applications and services that are operated by ITServices such as Email, WebCT, MyQueen's Portal, QShare, Wiki, etc.

Getting Started

Eligibility:

Students, Faculty, and Staff members at Queen's each receive a NetID.

Students:

The first step in using your NetID is to go through the activation process. To do so, visit the NetID Activation page.

Faculty and Staff:

You should go through your IT Admin Rep (Information Technology Administration) or the ITServices General Office to acquire your NetID.

Additional Info

You are assigned a NetID when you first come to Queen's, either as a student or as Faculty/Staff.  Your NetID is typically some combination of your last name and/or initials, possibly with a number.  You may recognize your NetID as the unique part of your default Queen's email address (the part in front of @queensu.ca).  If you have adopted the your.name email alias for your email address your NetID will not change.

Note
: Using the 'your.name' email option does not change your NetID. If your orginal assigned email was thumbt@queensu.ca, and you have opted to use tom.thumb@queensu.ca, your NetID would remain 'thumbt'.
